Joining forces with HMP Wealstun

We know the power of a job.

That’s why we have launched a ground-breaking new project to help tackle and reduce reoffending through employment.

Our Aim2Learn trainers are now working with lower risk offenders at HMP Wealstun to run intensive ‘bootcamp’ telecoms training courses to break that cycle of criminality – with the aim of securing meaningful jobs.

We have partnered with fantastic companies like IETG/SOCOTEC, an environmental technology group addressing environmental issues through telecommunications devices, to support this project.

The social and economic cost to the country of reoffending is over £18 billion a year.

But, employment is one of the most effective ways to reduce rates of reoffending – with figures suggesting someone is up to 50% less likely to reoffend if in employment.

Keep an eye out for more of our work on this.
