AIM2LEARN Success Stories

We give learners the skills and the knowledge they require to flourish in their chosen career. Unlike most, at AIM2LEARN we go out of our way to give every learner the best head start and through campaigns such as real world practical assessments, interviews with industry recruiters and partnerships with leading industry names. Those who learn with AIM2LEARN really reap the rewards and maximise their potential.

Our support continues far beyond the course and we are always eager to give advice and support that ensures you will succeed in your goals. One thing we love most is when our learners get back in touch to let us know where they have ended up after completing one of our courses, it really is a delight to hear from them and see how far they have progressed.

Here are a few things some of our recent learners had to say…

One of Aim2Learn's successful students

Wing ‘Ringo’ Guin Cheung

Started our Leeds Course on 07th September 2020, Achieved with us 23rd October 2020

Ringo previously worked within the hospitality sector alongside a fellow learner, due to Covid restrictions, he was made redundant. The course was recommended to Ringo through a previous learner.

“Working alongside a friend and colleague from my previous role, I felt comfortable to take on a career change in the middle of a pandemic. The tutoring and course content was the right pace and I felt comfortable – yet challenged. I was lucky to secure a role in Telecoms with Kelly’s group, South Yorkshire. Thanks to all the team at A2L for the opportunity’.”

Ringo has been working with Kelly’s Group since 27th October 2020.

A Very Unique Situation

Started out on our Level 2 Telecommunications Course

Whilst reviewing one of their student’s CV, our tutor saw the student held a PhD for Veterinary Science in their home country. Having arrived in the UK as an asylum seeker 3 years ago, they had attempted to use available funding and retrain on a free, funded course as a Telecommunications Engineer. They’d not attempted to continue their career here, as they couldn’t afford the fee to take the UK exam.

Our tutor looked to find them a route back into veterinary science in the UK. They spoke with a legal advisor first about the legality of their student’s status, then to the Royal Veterinary College.

The college asked that they draft a declaration of intent to return to veterinary sciences, in exchange for a role shadowing a Vet with a UK certification. Our tutor and the student wrote the letter and submitted it, succeeding in securing the shadow role.

The college explained that the student would be able to take an exam at the end of their shadowing period.

We heard from them on New Years Day, to find out they had now secured a role in their trade and are on their way to greatly improving their situation.

Nathan Haigh

Telecommunications Level 3 Leeds July 2024

When I first walked into the building my nerves were through the roof I was panicking and stressing. After meeting john and doing my induction with him my nerves calmed right down, he helped comfort me and made me really confident about the course. I’m now approaching the end of week 2 and I have passed numerous assessments. My advice to new starters is go with the flow don’t panic and ask for help if you need it, the tutors here are the best I’ve ever been taught by, and John is only round the corner if you need a chat.

To give a little update I am now approaching the end of week 5 and I am well on my way to passing this course. John has been supportive throughout my time on the course and without fail every time he has seen me he has taken time out of his day to ask me how I am and how I am progressing.

I would also like to say how good of a tutor Lee Clarkson is, he has supported me throughout the course and has understood how stressed I get over assignments he is a brilliant tutor and we are all lucky to be getting educated by him.

Upon arriving at Aim2Learn, I was provided mass amounts of support and was clearly told what I would expect from the course. The course is not the easiest but with help from tutors and friends I am excelling in my work, enjoying the experience whilst giving my all in everything.

I would advise anyone that is fearful in starting this course or similar courses provided by Aim2Learn not to worry as you’re going to be welcomed and taught by the best teachers who are more than happy to assist with your journey.

I am excited to see how far I can grow with the skills provided to me by Aim2Learn and cannot wait to advance in the telecommunications sector.
